In 1964, a handful of people got together at Rudolph Chevrolet, later to become known as Lou Grubb Chevrolet, and thought it would be a good idea to have the employees from all of the different dealerships get together and exchange information concerning the new items coming from General Motors. So they went out and solicited suppliers for sponsorship. On the 2nd Tuesday of each month a sponsor furnishes the meeting place at their place of business, a meal, refreshments and sometimes prizes to be given out at the meeting along with prizes supplied by the club. The club members are given tours and information about what the sponsor sells and or manufactures. At each meeting a representative from General Motors along with representatives from other manufacturer, such as accessory manufactures, give presentations concerning upcoming items and ideas available in the near future. The dealerships pay the truck club $15.00 per person, which has remained the same for the past 44 years. |
